The Immortal God Roll / Suggested Perks
What is a God Roll? A god roll is a specific set of perks for any particular weapon that the community believes will be most effective within the current meta. However, there will always be some variance in what your personal best perks are. This blog will help you to understand what The Immortal God Roll is.
Why is The Immortal so sought after? The Immortal was introduced in Season of Defiance as one of the new Trials of Osiris weapons and quickly rose to prominence as one of the most sought after weapons in that season. In a sandbox where 750rpm SMG’s already reigned supreme, the addition of a new 750 SMG with some of the best stats and the ability to take adept mods put it in a tier of its own.
What is The Immortal God Roll? The Immortal God Roll of this weapon is Corkscrew Rifling, Ricochet Rounds, Rangefinder, Target Lock with a Stability Masterwork! There are plenty of other perk combinations that will generate success but the above roll is considered the best choice.
Masterwork Options: Stability continues to be the masterwork that people chase for most SMG’s. While increasing any stats in 750 rpm SMG’s is good, increases to stability provide the most noticeable change to the weapon’s lethality. Any masterwork can be good on this weapon; reload speed, range and handling are all viable options and make the weapon feel snappier or more consistent in their own ways. The combination of perks is the determining factor, the masterwork is an added bonus!
The Immortal PvP Perk Roll Options:
- First Slot (Barrel): Any barrel that increases stability or range; Hammer-Forged, smallbore, extended barrel are all viable options but Corkscrew Rifling gives a little of everything. The real deciding factor comes down to the positive and negative aspects of the barrel.
- Second Slot: (Magazine): Ricochet and High-Caliber rounds are what you are chasing here. Increasing flinch with high-cal is not as useful on an SMG but it makes a great second choice. Ricochet rounds give a flat increase to both stability and range and are always good for a PvP roll.
- Third Slot: (Perk 1): Rangefinder is the main perk being chased after for PvP rolls. Dynamic sway reduction gets an honorable mention, a strong perk to have on any SMG. From a PVP standpoint, you really want either Rangefinder or Dynamic Sway Reduction.
- Fourth Slot: (Perk 2): Target Lock is the perk you really want for The Immortal God Roll in this column. This perk is what really makes The Immortal the hands down best SMG in Destiny 2. Your damage will increase the longer your weapon remains on target. The perk is what makes the gun A MUST HAVE for Destiny 2 pvp. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vS13-20bpZI YT Credit Cammy Cakes Gaming
What About The Immortal PvE Perk Roll Options?
- First Slot (Barrel): For PvE, it really comes down to what you’re after. Handling makes switching between weapons and general use of this gun much snappier which is often more sought after in PvE than a little extra range. As such, a fluted barrel is chased after. However, this comes down to personal preference and any barrel will do fine in PvE.
- Second Slot (Magazine): Magazine size is one of the most important stats when it comes to PvE and as such, Appended is unfortunately the only magazine perk available. An honorable mention goes out to Flared magwell which will rapidly decrease the time it takes to reload.
- Third Slot (Perk 1): Rangefinder is the best option for both PVP and PVE. Another strong choice for PVE is threat detector.
- Fourth Slot (Perk 2): The best perk in this slot is actually a new perk that was released with the Season of Defiance, Hatchling. Precision final blows or rapidly defeating targets with a non-precision weapon spawns a Threadling at the target’s location. This in combination with other abilities can lead to insane DPS on waves of low threat enemies. Hatchling is a must have perk on your The Immortal God Roll for PVE.
