How To Unlock Destiny 2 Weapon Crafting/Reshaping

To be able to reshape your weapon, you must first complete some missions of The Witch Queen campaign, after that you will receive your first weapon that you’re able to reshape, the glaive. The missions required to unlock weapon crafting are free to all players!

So now that you can finally craft Destiny 2 weapons, here’s how it works:

  • You will first need to have its pattern(blueprint) to craft a weapon.
  • Head to Mars, and interact with the Relic located in The Enclave.
  • Select the shape of the new weapon you wish to create.
  • Select the pattern between, Primary, Special, or Heavy.
  • You will then need to choose a Frame. At first, you will only be able to select the Intrinsic Frame, but after reaching a certain level with the chosen weapon, you will be able to pick the Enhanced Intrinsic frame.
  • You can now customize your perk slots. In the beginning, you will only have two options for each slot but will unlock more as you level up your weapon.
  • In the last step, you can make use of Mementos to change the weapon’s appearance. However, this won’t be available the first time you craft a weapon.
  • After picking all of your Perks and Frames, you can finally press and hold the shape button to create your weapon.

Crafting Materials Destiny 2

So if your objective is to farm as many element crafting materials, always keep an eye out for Deepsight Resonance Weapons and complete Resonant Alloy Quests. As for the alloy materials, you will need to do specific missions repeatedly, and you will also need to have some Legendary Weapons that you can dismantle. The most valuable of craftable materials are Ascendant Alloys. You will need them to forge enhanced traits and exotic weapons, so remember to buy them once a week from Master Rahool. It might take some time to stock up a lot of these materials, but before long you will have plenty of them and will be able to craft every weapon you want.

  • Ascendant Alloy: There are a few ways to get this. You get it by reaching rank 16 with the gunsmith, completing The Relic for the first time, by the Master Wellspring completions, and it is also a possible weekly campaign reward for the missions Throne World and The Witch Queen Offensives. Rahool also sells one per week.
  • Drowned Alloy: These can be acquired by dismantling weapons from the Void of The Disciple Raid, or you can buy them at the final vendor store for twenty Spoils of Conquest.
  • Natural Element/ Android Element/Energetic Element/ Mutable Element/ Ruinous Element:  You can get them as a reward for The Reshaping Enigma and Shaping Resonant Alloy Quests or by attuning a Deepsight Resonance Weapon for the first time.

If your objective is to farm tons of element crafting materials, always keep an eye out for Deepsight Resonance Weapons and complete the Resonant Alloy Quests. As for the alloy materials, you will need to do specific missions repeatedly, and you will also have to have some Legendary Weapons that you can dismantle. How To Reshape Weapons

You can reshape any weapon that is craftable using its pattern. Weapons are reshapes at The Enclave, and while you can reshape your gun at any level, at the higher levels, you will be able to equip Enhanced Intrinsic frames, enhanced perks, and Memento’s to it. If you want to invest in reshaping a specific weapon, be sure to use the weapon a lot. Using a craftable weapon during combat and when completing activities will help level your gun. At Weapon Level 16 you will start to unlock the more sought after enhanced perks.

What are Destiny 2 Deepsight Resonance Weapons?

You can come across these types of weapons while exploring the world, each of them will have a unique task that you must complete while using it.

Craftable Weapons Destiny 2

Let us use the Piece Of Mind resonance task as an example. As you can see, you will need to use it in combat to progress through its attunement, and once doing that, you will be able to extract its perk and put it in other compatible weapons. So if you’re looking for a specific perk, always keep an eye out for those red border Deepsight Resonance weapons, as completing its attunement will reward you with Resonant Elements and their pattern so you can create your own version of it. You can recognize them easily as they will have a red outline around your weapon’s icon. So be sure to hold on to any Deepsight Resonance Weapons instead of dismantling them right away.

What Are Destiny 2 Enhanced Perks?

Enhanced Perks are an upgraded version of a standard perk. It takes a bit more time to be able to equip them with your weapons, as you need to reach a certain level with it before being able to apply the Enhanced Perks to a crafted weapon. When choosing to do so, be sure of your choice, as it requires Ascendant Alloy to add them, and these materials are a bit more challenging to collect.

Enhanced Perks Destiny 2

As shown in the picture above, we can now see that enhanced perks and traits have a golden border. Also, just because a perk has an enhanced version, it doesn’t mean that it might be that much better than its original version. In fact, many players confirm that some of these enhanced versions are not worth it, but there are also some amazing ones, that really make a big difference. Here are some of the best Enhanced Perks available at the moment:

  • Enhanced Autoloading Holster: 0.2s faster than normal Autoloading.
  • Enhanced Field Prep: Gives up to 10 rockets in reserve.
  • Enhanced Kill Clip: Extends Kill clip duration from five seconds to around eight.
  • Enhanced Impulse Amplifier: Increases reload speed and projectile velocity on the glaive.

This is everything you need to know about weapon crafting in Destiny 2. Hopefully all of this information was easy to understand, and you feel more comfortable crafting weapons. It can takes hours of theory crafting and finding the perfect traits and perks for a gun that you want. As a quick reminder, remember how important it is to look for and use Deepsight Resonance Weapons, as they will give you their pattern and materials when completing its attunement. Out of all the alloys, the Ascendant Alloy is the most valuable and trickiest one to get. Because of that, don’t forget to visit Master Rahool every week and buy it from him!

Reshaping weapons with Enhanced Traits and Perks will be expensive and time consuming. These materials will stack up over time but make sure you use those Ascendant Alloys wisely! Remember that you will only be able to use the enhanced once your desired weapon reaches a certain level. One final tip, if you find yourself unable to reshape the gun you want, it might be because you still have it equipped, so be sure to unequip any weapon you wish to reshape.
