What Changed for the Trials of Osiris in the Season of the lost?

New Trials of Osiris loot

Trials of Osiris and its rewards received an overhaul for season of the lost. Saint 14 now features a rank up system wherein playing games in the trials of Osiris earns you reputation using the Guardian -> Legend ranking system already present within the game. This new system lets players not only earn extra rewards but also to target farm specific weapons and armor that you are chasing

How does the rank system work and what are the rewards in the reworked Trials of Osiris?

Each major tier in your rank up journey in your first reset will net you an engram as a rank reward from Saint 14. These engrams work on a knock-out system, with each one giving you a Trials of Osiris reward that you haven’t earned before if there are still rewards you are trying to obtain. This process is retroactive so anything you have previously earned will already be counted as obtained. In subsequent rank ups, these engrams will change to upgrade modules. Each week the weapons available as rank up rewards, as well as their perks, rotate. Trials rank increases from 0-10000 as you play, with 16 sub rank ups in your climb from Guardian to Legend. Each sub rank up you achieve earns you a Trials Engram which can be used to purchase any non-adept previously earned trials reward from Saint 14, as well as the ability to purchase the Adept trials reward for that week so long as you also have a trials card with 7 wins.

What is weapon focusing and how does it work?

Weapon focusing is a system that has been in use for Destiny 2’s seasonal weapons for many seasons now. The Season of the Lost added weapon focusing to Saint 14 alongside its improved loot system. Focused decoding allows you to trade in materials for previously obtained trials loot. The cost for obtaining any of these drops is:

            1 Trials Engram

            20,000 Glimmer

            100 Legendary Shards

How can you earn Trials Engrams and Adept Weapons?

As we went over earlier, the most reliable source for Trials Engrams is ranking up your Trials of Osiris reputation rank as each of the major and minor rank ups earn you one as a reward. But this isn’t the only way that Trials Engrams can be earned. With the playlist overhaul, Bungie has added a new way to farm for Trials of Osiris loot. Previously, the fastest way to farm for loot was to complete back-to-back flawless cards, this is no longer the case. Instead, you are encouraged to play games after reaching 7 wins on a card as winning after this point gives a chance to drop Trials Engrams as a post-match reward. As an addition to this, after going flawless you can also farm for the adept weapon available that week by winning games on your flawless card.
