Destiny 2 Night Watch God Roll

Destiny 2 Nightwatch God Roll

The Night Watch seems to be a weapon that drops when you don’t want it to show up. And if you’ve been playing Destiny 2 for a while, chances are you have tons of these lying around. But even if you have 10 of them, they’ll each have different attributes. One of them might even become your next weapon of choice.

Some of these are known as “god rolls,” which have superior stats ideal for different settings. In Destiny 2, getting a Night Watch god roll can be a tedious and exhausting process. Thankfully, we’re here to alleviate some of those struggles.

What is a God Roll?

A god roll is a weapon optimized with the best stats and perks possible. In some cases, god rolls are tailored to individual playstyles. But more often than not, the Destiny 2 community will collectively decide on the best overall stats in the current meta. For some weapons, like the Night Watch, you’ll want different stats for PvP and PvE settings.

Each roll of the Night Watch will give you different stats. These will change depending on which perks your gun has, but here are the base stats:

Best Perks / Masterwork Options

Something to keep in mind for the Night Watch in Destiny 2 is that god rolls will depend heavily on your weapon’s archetypes.

Night Watch is a scout rifle in the Lightweight Frame category with 200 RPM. So with these archetypes, you’ll want to focus on boosting stats like range and handling—barrels like Corkscrew Rifling and Smallbore boost range and stability.

Hammer-Forged Rifling will greatly boost range but doesn’t offer anything else in return. Arrowhead Brake is another common perk for Night Watch. It solely boosts handling.

Magazine preferences will vary from player to player. We recommend the Tactical Mag, which increases the magazine size and gives an overall boost to stability, handling, and reload speed.

Or if you want to go longer without reloading, use the Extended Mag, which greatly increases the magazine size. The drawback is you greatly lower your reload speed.

Best Perks for Different Content (PvP vs PvE)

Like we mentioned, it’s not uncommon for the desired god roll to be different for PvP and PvE situations.

Night Watch God Roll for PvP

When using Night Watch against other players, you’ll want to prioritize how much damage you can deal while still taking advantage of its handling and stability. Here are some combos we’d recommend:

  • Barrel: Corkscrew Rifling / Small Bore
  • Magazine: Tactical Mag / Accurized Rounds
  • First Perk: Overflow / Rapid Hit
  • Second Perk: Explosive Payload

The Explosive Payload increases the overall damage that the Night Watch can deal. Increasing the gun’s range with Accurized Rounds will also improve your effectiveness in PvP battles.

Since the Overflow trait loads your weapon beyond normal capacity, pairing it with the Tactical Mag will give you extra firepower between reloads.

On the other hand, scout rifles are all about precision hits. So Rapid Hit is a perk that pairs well with that playstyle. Landing consecutive hits will grant you increased stability and faster reload time.

Night Watch God Roll for PvE

On the whole, you could use the same Night Watch god roll in Destiny 2’s PvE and still have an ideal setup. With that said, here’s a different roll that prioritizes faster reload times:

  • Barrel: Arrowhead Break
  • Magazine: Tactical Mag / Appended Mag
  • First Perk: Outlaw / Subsistence
  • Second Perk: Explosive Payload
