Destiny 2 Beyond Light – Weapons to Farm – Part 1

Destiny 2 is in a big transition period. Destiny 2 Beyond Light is going to bring with it a lot of changes to subclasses, weapons, exotics and locations. Destiny as a game hasn’t seen this sort of meta shakeup since special weapons were added to the kinetic and energy slots in the Warmind expansion. With sunsetting, any weapon obtained prior to the Season of Dawn will no longer be able to be infused up to the new power cap. This means that these weapons won’t be relevant in new light-level enabled end game activities including; new raids, Trials of Osiris, Iron Banner, new dungeons and new seasonal activities.

However with this Bungie has given us a whole new set of weapons to obtain in the Umbral engrams and Season Pass as well as through raids and endgame PvP this season that will not be sunset for the next year. The Umbral Engrams include 20 weapons, some new and some returning. This engram includes some of the best in slot weapons going forward, and others that will be very competitive in any new sandbox that can come in beyond light. So what are some of the best weapons that you can obtain to futureproof yourself in Destiny 2? Well we’re going to countdown our Top 10 weapons you need for Beyond Light

10. The Supremacy

The Supremacy sniper rifle is obtained in the Last Wish raid. You can get this sniper rifle from any encounter as well as from any of the secret chests. The Supremacy is a rapid-fire sniper rifle and can roll with a wide range of perks with combinations good for both PvE and PvP. While this sniper rifle has long been known for its great PvP uses with great perk combinations and good base stats with low zoom, rapid fire sniper rifles have recently been seeing use in high-end PvE activities with competitive DPS.

For PvP you are looking for barrel and magazine perks that provide range, stability and handling; with the perk combination in the third and fourth slots you are chasing being snapshot and rampage/kill clip. Damage perks on this archetype of sniper rifle mean that you can get 2 shot body kills which you would normally not be able to. For PvE you are looking for either extended mag / appended mag with any barrel perk, with the 3rd and 4th perk slots going to ambitious assassin / genesis + triple tap / rapid hit. With these combinations, supremacy becomes one of the most universally usable sniper rifles going forward in both PvE and PvP. Other notable mentions for sniper rifles are Eye of Sol from the Trials of Osiris and Omniscient Eye from the Garden of Salvation raid.

9. Temporal Clause

The Temporal Clause is obtained through decoding Umbral engrams, and can be gained at a higher rate by focusing your engrams to an Undying Focused Engram. The Temporal Clause is a rapid-fire frame Machine Gun released in the Season of the Undying. With sunsetting, all the legendary machine guns are being sunset except for Temporal Clause and Seventh Seraph SAW, of which on Temporal Clause is currently obtainable. Since they were added Machine Guns have been used widely as top-tier ad clear weapons, with very high range, ammo reserves and damage machine guns are perfect for running through rank and file enemies. Perk combinations you are looking for on this weapon are auto-loading holster / ambitious assassin + surrounded / rampage. Other notable mentions include Seventh Seraph SAW which along with being a great weapon archetype, also can spawn warmind cells with Season of Worthy mods.

 8. Accrued Redemption

The Accrued Redemption is a precision frame combat bow and is obtained in the Garden of Salvation raid. With the Season of Arrivals, bows gained a flat buff to their damage against minors and have always done well. Compound Bows are the best bow frame for consistency, and with infinite range consistency in other areas is what you are looking for. The Accrued Redemption can roll with very good PvE perk combinations making it a monster if you can hit your shots, and in seasons where bows are required for champion stunning, they are unmatched. The roll you are looking for with this is pretty standard for a PvE bow. Archer’s Tempo + Rampage provides both ease of use and high dps, with archer’s tempo decreasing draw time on every precision hit and rampage giving a flat, stacking damage buff on kills. Going forward this will be one of the best bows in the game and will be an invaluable asset in any guardian’s vault. It drops from only the first encounter in the Garden of Salvation raid, which most teams can clear easily and can be done quickly. Another honorable mention for bows going forward is the Point of the Stag, which was the Iron Banner pinnacle reward in Season of the Worthy
